First of all you need to start saving money. If you haven’t saved any money over your life time now is the time to start. It gets harder for your money to make money as you age. I think the first thing everyone should do is begin contributing to a 401k if one is offered by your employer. If you don’t contribute bump your election to 1%. They put it in a money market account, or I can invest it in stocks or ETFs. I never notice this money is gone. I put about 10% of my take home pay in there each paycheck and I never touch it.
